On Friday May 28, 2021, ECOWAS carried out a working visit as part of a mission to the SRFC. The mission consisted of Mr. Amadou Tall in charge of the PESCAO / ECOWAS Program and Mr. Aboubacar Sidibé, Senior Policy Officer of the FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Department. The partners of the PESCAO program with FAO-Dakar were also associated with this mission by Mrs. Paula Anton, Fisheries and Aquaculture Officer and The Delegation of the European Union in Dakar represented by Mrs. Ndiaye.

The agenda for the working visit was as follows:

1. Take stock of the coordination of the PESCAO Program, in particular on: The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the SRFC and ECOWAS; The SCS Convention; The role of ORP (CPCO and CSRP) in the dissemination of CSD DPAD; and Other EU initiatives in the field of fisheries and aquaculture in the ECOWAS zone. Information / exchanges on the PCT / FAO for the benefit of ECOWAS on the regional fight against IUU fishing and regional coordination and role of the FCWC and the SRFC;

2. Evoke the axes / areas of cooperation / Collaboration between technical and financial partners for greater synergy of actions in West Africa (exchange of information on current and planned initiatives).
